Informed Consent for the Collection and Use of Personal Information

Privacy Policy

The Mathematical Attitude and Practices Test Website (hereinafter, “Site”) respects the personal information of its Users and complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. Through this Privacy Policy, the Site informs Users regarding the purpose for which and the manner in which personal information provided by Users is utilized, and the measures adopted to protect personal information.

In the event that the Site amends the privacy policy, it shall be notified on its Website. This policy shall come into effect on March 1, 2024.

Items of personal information to be collected

The Site collects the following personal information for consultation and service applications

Purpose of collection and use of personal information

The Site shall use the collected personal information for User’s test result record or academic analysis.

Period of the retention and use of personal information

The Site shall destroy personal information without delay when the retention period of personal information is over or the purpose of processing the personal information has been achieved. In the event that the retention of personal information is required under other laws and regulations, however, the personal information shall be transferred to a separate database or retained in a different storage location.
Collected personal information are stored for three years.

Method to destroy personal information

In principle, the Site shall destroy personal information immediately after the purpose of collecting and using the personal information is achieved.
The following procedure and method shall be employed to discard the personal information:

  • Deletion procedure: Personal information shall be discarded immediately after the purpose is achieved or after being transferred to a separate location and stored for a certain period of time under internal policies and other applicable laws and regulations (in case of member withdrawal, it shall be destroyed after three months of retention). Any personal information transferred to a separate location shall not be used for other purposes unless required by acts.
  • Deletion method: Personal information in electronic files shall be discarded via a technical method that prevents the reproduction of the information, and personal information printed on paper shall be destroyed via shredding or incineration.

Provision of personal information

In principle, the Site shall not provide Users' personal information to a third party, except when:

  • Users have provided prior consent; and
  • It is required in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, or requested by an investigative agency in accordance with the procedures and methods set forth in laws and regulations for the purpose of investigation.

Outsourcing of collected personal information

The Site shall not outsource Users’ information to a third party without their consent. In the event that it is necessary to do so in the future, the outsourcing party and the details of outsourced work shall be notified to Users, and their prior consent shall be obtained, if necessary.
